On my tummy

I was born at 3.34pm on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Womens College Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Coming into the world was a real shock after nine months in the very warm and cosy place that was my Mummy's tummy. I especially did not like being placed naked on the weighing scales, but was pleased to learn that I was a healthy 7.5lbs and in very good health. After that I was given a nice warm hat, swaddled up in a nice, cosy blanket and presented back to my Mum and Dad. They smiled a lot and seemed very pleased to see me.

When we got home from the hospital I mostly ate and slept. My parents also introduced me to bathing which I like as long as I am wrapped in a nice towel afterwards, preferably one with a hood. I have developed a real fondness for cuddling. I particularly like cuddling with my grandparents who travelled all the way from New Zealand and England to meet me. During their visits I learnt some kiwi-isms from Nan and Grandad Doyle, and parts of the Greek alphabet from Grandpa Taylor. I also learned some new songs and enjoyed all the happy, smiley faces giving me lots of cuddles and attention.

Going for walks in my stroller is a real thrill. I like all the bumps and when I am not relaxing with a nap, I like to look around at all the interesting new sights and sounds. I particularly like cruising through Pusateri's where there are lots of interesting colours and smells and total strangers say how cute I am. Just like Mrs Fish who constantly tells my Mum that I am so cute and look just like my Daddy.

In the past few weeks I just love to look at anything and everything. My eyes like to follow moving ojbects and I will turn my head when I hear an interesting noise. My favourite playtime activities make me squeal with delight. I do smile a lot now (but not when Mummy puts a camera in my face) and I like to carry on conversations. No one seems to understand me yet though...

On my two-month birthday I went to the doctor where I was a very brave girl. I had my first set of vaccinations and was put naked on the weighing scales again! I survived and am pleased to report I am now a healthy 11lb, 1oz.
