Cycling Trip to Paris 2003

Adam, Ade, Jake, John, Steve and me cycled from Oxford to Paris (9-11 April), meeting a possee of girls with champagne under the Eiffel Tower on our arrival. Three days of hard riding covering around 240 miles with stops on the overnight Portsmouth-Le Havre ferry and in picturesque Les Andelys in Anglophile Terry's Hotel de Paris.

Other highlights included mountains of chips, fries and frites; riding through hail, sleet and snow; some infamous yellow pantaloons; some super-hairpin hills (up and down!); a daredevil red-light-jumping convoy through the evening traffic of central Paris; and Adam's insistence on braving the traffic all the way round the Arc de Triomphe (nutter!).
